Other community amenities include a skate park, a BMX track, playscapes and a disc golf course. The Devine Lake Regional Park offers a 25-acre lake, which allows non-motorized boating and fishing from the shore. The park also features 46 acres of undeveloped land that is ideal for wildlife watching. The 16-acre Robin Bledsoe Park offers a swimming pool, soccer and baseball fields, basketball courts, water playscapes and an amphitheater. A number of golf courses are also available in the area, including the “gem of the Hill Country” 18-hole course at Crystal Falls Golf Club.

Established in 1882 after the Austin and Northwestern Railroad Company sold land to real estate investors, the town of Leander has a rich history in the railroad industry. In fact, the town’s name is in honor of Leander “Catfish” Brown, who was one of the railroad men who helped to complete the railroad line that passed through the area. Today, Leander is a steadily growing city with more than 26,000 residents. With its affordable housing options, award-winning schools and exceptional amenities, it is little wonder the community is so highly-sought by those interested in living in the Austin area.
