Other shopping centers in the area include Gateway Shopping Center, Barton Creek Square Mall, the Arboretum at Great Hills, and The Village at Westlake.
Residents of the West Austin region are served by the Eanes Independent School District (ISD). Serving well over 7,500 students, the Eanes ISD consists of six elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. All nine of the schools within the district have been rated as Exemplary. The district itself has also received an Exemplary rating, making it one of just two 5A schools to receive the rating in 2009. Altogether, only 9.5 percent of districts throughout the state are rated as Exemplary.
The West Austin region is defined as the area that is bound by Barton Creek and Lake Austin to the North and 290 and Barton Creek to the South. Lake Austin serves as the eastern boundary while the Travis County Line is located to the west.
Today, the West Austin region is home to a number of upscale, luxury neighborhoods. Neighborhoods in the east section of the region, such as Davenport Ranch, Barton Creek, Rob Roy, West Lake Hills and Rollingwood, offer some of the most exclusive houses in West Austin.
