Highway 45 and the 130 Toll Road also back up against the suburb, making travel to all of the area’s conveniences and amenities quite convenient. The community itself, however, offers many amenities for residents to enjoy. Among these is an abundance of restaurants and shopping opportunities, including those found in the Stone Hill Town Center. The community also features 500 acres of open space, 15 city parks, more than 30 miles of trails and the 180-acre Lake Pflugerville Reservoir. Popular activities enjoy by Pflugerville residents include fishing, swimming and canoeing.

Despite its big city amenities, Pflugerville manages to maintain a small town charm through its historic downtown buildings and numerous city festivals. Among these festivals are the annual Chili Cook-Off and Pfall Pfest, while the downtown area is home to local shops and restaurants. The community is also home to the 20-acre Typhoon Texas Waterpark.

The Pflugerville ISD consists of 20 elementary schools as well as Cele Middle School, Dessau Middle School, Kelly Lane Middle School, Park Crest Middle School, Pflugerville Middle School, Westview Middle School, Hendrickson High School, John B. Connally High School and Pflugerville High School. The district, which boasts a total of 27 campuses within a 95 square mile region, is known for its excellent academics. The first commercial business, a general store, was established in 1890. The community enjoyed healthy growth until the Great Depression, at which time the population began to fall. The community gained national attention after its Pflugerville Panthers won 55 consecutive football games from 1958 to 1962. Shortly after, the town was officially incorporated.

Prior to the integration of major roadways, the community of Pflugerville was relatively isolated. As such, many businesses chose to locate within the town itself. Today, approximately three miles of 130 run through the town, including the intersection of 45 and 130. This space has been used by the city to attract major commercial developments to the area.role in helping the city of Austin grow over the last several years.

With its convenient location and reasonable prices, it is easy to see why Pflugerville is a popular choice among first-time homebuyers. As such, the community has played a major role in helping the city of Austin grow over the last several years.
