With Lake Travis located just 10 minutes away, residents can easily access a number of fishing docks or engage in a variety of water sports. The area also boasts more than a dozen parks offering hiking and biking trails, picnic and pavilion areas, climbing rocks, splash pads, swimming areas, basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields and soccer fields.

A variety of conveniences and employers are also located in the city of Cedar Park. Three popular retail and dining districts are Cedar Park Town Center, 1890Ranch, and Lakeline Mall. Other city features include internally lit street signs and more than ten highly-acclaimed golf courses. The popular 195-acre Fred Couples Signature Golf Course can be found at the Twin Creeks Country Club. Other entertainment options can be found at the 8,000-seat HEB Center at Cedar Park, which is an arena that hosts more than 130 events every year.

Students who live in the Cedar Park community attend the award-winning Leander Independent School District (ISD). Many of the schools within the district have been rated as Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency, while the schools serving Cedar Parks regularly compete in statewide athletic and academic competitions. The high school marching band has consistently placed as finalist in UIL State competitions as well as in Bands of America Regional and Super Regional marching band competitions. The district also has numerous programs in place that are designed to help its students succeed, including the nonprofit Leander ISD Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) and a college connection program involving Austin Community College.

Initially founded in 1873, the city of Cedar Park was created around the ranch of George and Harriet Cluck. Following the development of the railroad in the area, Austin residents began traveling to the area in order to spend time in the park located near to the train depot. Today, the city is the fourth-fastest growing city in the country. With its nearby lakes and parks, breathtaking views, award-winning schools, close proximity to major employers and affordable housing options, it is likely to remain one of Austin’s most popular places to purchase a home.
