Austin Ghost Tours take guests along a walking tour through downtown Austin. Offered on Saturday and Sunday nightes throughout the year, this guided tour tells of all of the Austin “haunts.” Reservations are required to join this tour.
Austin Nature and Science Center
The Austin Nature and Science Center is a great place for curious children and adults. Here, guests can explore a variety of hands on and interactive exhibits as well as watch animal showcases and participate in special camps.
Austin Steam Train
The Austin Steam Train tour takes guests for a ride on a vintage train through the Austin area. Tours run throughout the year.
The Austin Zoo is different from many zoos in that it features animal inhabitants that were rescued from around the world. It also includes a train and a petting zoo.
Barton Creek Greenbelt
The Barton Creek Greenbelt is a great place to go for hiking and getting closer to nature. The area offers 7.9 miles of trails, which follow along the scenic Barton Creek. If rainfall has been plentiful, the creek also offers swimming opportunities. Rock climbing walls can also be found along the trails.
Barton Springs Swimming Pool
The Barton Springs Swimming Pool is considered the premiere place to swim in all of Austin. The pool is over 900 feet long and was formed after the damming of Barton Springs.
Hamilton Pool also offers swimming opportunities, as well as a chance to enjoy its 45 foot waterfall. Hiking and picnicking opportunities are also available in the area.
J & M Aviaries
J & M Aviaries features over 60 different species of exotic birds on display as well as other animals. On Saturdays and Sundays, special animal encounter shows take place.
Kiddie Acres is an amusement park that is geared toward families with children under the age of ten. The park includes a number of rides as well as a miniature golf green.
