For Austinites who love to travel, the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has made an exciting announcement: as of June 2, the airport will be offering a nonstop flight from Austin to Cancun, Mexico.
The new addition to the flight schedule will provide Austin residents with a couple different options to select from, with flights leaving on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1:50 p.m. and arriving at 4:10 p.m. Return flights, on the other hand, will leave at 10:30 from Cancun and will arrive back in Austin at 12:50 p.m.
Although the flights won't start until June 2, the airport is already selling tickets for the flights through the Sun Country airline service, though passengers will be checking in through the United Airlines desk. Sun Country is currently offering a special $139 one-way fare as well as a special all-inclusive package for $559 per person that includes hotel, air and car.
The non-stop Cancun flight isn't the only non-stop flight the airline has to offer. In fact, Austinites enjoy nonstop service to 38 destinations throughout the United States. Some of the recent additions have included New York, Cincinnati and Branson, Missouri. In addition, the airport is home to 13 different airlines.
